Once upon a time a very talented fashion designer was born in a place called Haarlem, the Netherlands. His parents gave the boy wonder the exceptious name Django. At the time, they didn't have a clue of how foreseen, creative and successful he would become. This was 1984. The gifted boy soon felt he differed much from the rest of the people in his hometown. Django always wanted to look fashionable in public. Appearance therefore was very important to him.
An education
In his teen years he continued creating his own style. Soon he discovered he wanted to learn to translate his ideas into concepts, creating desirable sophisticated outfits for the runway. The year 2003 meant the start of an education that would turn into the basis of his well-considered work: studying Fashion Design at the private Artemis Academy (Rotterdam, The Netherlands).
During his studies Django was able to create a vision that would open doors to his future. Given the fact that he was so sensitive towards and well informed concerning couture, he soon became a very ingenious student. This signature soon inspired several hand-made collections. After having completed the Academy in 2006 (Cum Laude), Django started to focus on how to excel among the range of talent that The Netherlands has to offer.
Definition of style
Django has the ability to translate women's wishes into desirable couture garments. He instinctively unites an emotional experience with well executed must-have pieces. His creations often represent a broad variety of his craftmanship. Each piece inside of the collection tells its own story, without the loss of coherence. Commerciality comes with expectations, but Django is not afraid to follow his heart.
Inspiration
During the design proces, Django always bears in mind the couture ambiance of the renowned fashion houses. The time when Art Deco was in its limelight, is also very much inspiring to him. "I feel a strong connection towards the dedication to craftmanship of that particular era. Not just fashion, but architecture and pictorial art as well", according to Django. "Mass production was still a taboo."
Femininity and aesthetic appeal are highly important to Django. Whenever seeing or feeling one of his creations, you will immediately understand the profound expression of Django's vision.
